This may seem like an unusual request but we want to make sure that you understand what to consider when selecting a company to fix your computer or provide you with on-going support. And we want to make sure you know what we can offer before you decide if we’re right for you!

 

What’s important when selecting a company to repair or maintain
your computer?

 

Well we think these are your main considerations:

 

Cost

Actually we believe that the true measure in relation to cost should be value for money. All too often the cheapest is seen as the best option. We know from our experience of listening to customers that this often leads to either a poor quality job (sometimes without the problem actually being fixed) or a very expensive job as the hours tick by and the replacement parts are numerous and expensive (and not always necessary).

We are not the cheapest but neither are we the most expensive home computer service company. However, we operate a No Fix No Fee policy so if we don’t fix the problem you don’t pay a penny, so there’s no risk to you. We have no call out fee and we never charge for more than 2 hours labour on a single problem! We believe we have the skills to resolve 99% of computer problems within 2 hours so we will never charge you for longer than this. This way you know there’s a limit to what you will have to pay, no matter what the problem is.

For your extra peace of mind we also give you an estimate of the cost before we visit. This way you have a reasonable idea of the cost before you make any commitment.

Quality

In terms of fixing computers or providing a support service, what do we mean by quality? Obviously everything about the delivery of the service relates to quality but more specifically you want to know that if something is fixed it stays fixed. Most computer service companies do not guarantee their work at all, while some guarantee it for a few days or a week at most.

All of the parts we provide come with a 12 month guarantee (unless otherwise stated) and all of our labour is guaranteed for 1 month. We know that if the problem has not re-occurred within a month then it isn’t going to!

Speed of Response

Most customers who need their computer fixing, need it fixing quickly! Even those that only use their computer for personal use find that it’s a real pain when they suddenly can’t contact friends or family by e-mail or do the shopping on-line or worse still, can’t access their bank details.

Unfortunately computers do not always decide to break down between 9AM and 5PM. In fact many home computers are not even used during these hours so it’s important that your support company is always there for you, whatever the day and whatever the time!

We are contactable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Trust
         
Trust is earned so how do you trust a company that you’ve never used before? You can look at how they work, what guarantees they give and who is actually going to do the work. You can also check the history of the company and find out what existing customers think.

Capability

It’s obviously important that whoever you get to repair or maintain your computer knows what they are doing. Not only does this ensure they actually complete the work but that they do it quickly and efficiently.

Every one of our Service Area Managers is already an experienced computer professional before they join us and they have then undergone our specially designed intensive IT training program. In addition to this they also have 24 hour access to a specialist team of IT experts so even if they don’t know the answer (which is unlikely of course!) someone else will.

So whatever the problem, you can be sure that Amberworks will be able to resolve it!

On-going Support

If your computer and, more importantly, the information on it is important to you then on-going preventative support and maintenance is far safer than relying on the “after the event” emergency phone call. So always check for what on-going support agreements are available.
